Religious Part II
- Religious themes are common throughout ART History particularly in paintings which date from about the 6th century into the middles ages and then into Renaissance times
- Religious Art combines humanity and divinity through visual representation
- The theme of the "Madonna" (representation of Mary) is part of the iconography of Catholic and Orthodox religions
- Mary, shown with or without child, is a subject depicted by countless artists and painters for centuries
